Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for a Airline Transport Pilot certificate, you must be at least 23 years of age (at the time of checkride), read, speak and understand the English language,
be of good moral character, and hold a Commercial Pilot certificate with an instrument rating. In addition, students will be required to pass an aeronautical knowledge test; and meet the flight proficiency and aeronautical experience in accordance with
FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate requirements

Prerequisites
1500 hours of total time as a pilot to include:
500 hours of cross-country flight time.
100 hours of night flight time.
50 hours of flight time in the class (single-engine or multi-engine) of airplane for the rating sought.
75 hours of instrument flight time, in actual or simulated conditions of which 50 hours must be in airplane.
250 hours of flight time as pilot in command, or as second in command performing the duties of
pilot in command (under the supervision of the pilot in command), or any combination thereof, to include:
100 hours of cross-country flight time; and
25 hours of night flight time.

I want to start studying for an airline transport pilot (ATP) knowledge test, but I don't know which one to take. Which
knowledge test do you recommend?
There are two knowledge tests (a part 121 or a part 135) for an airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate. As there is no recommendation on which one
to take, it is recommended that you take the knowledge test that best suits your aviation career goals. Passing either knowledge test meets the
requirement for an airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate.
